We were appointed by the Coleford steering committee following an architectural competition to undertake a feasibility study for the construction of a new community centre to serve the residents of Coleford and the wider area.

Our brief was to design a structure which met the needs of several user groups, whilst acting as a unifying building for the wider community.

The design incorporated a three court badminton hall; a 100 seat meeting room; a dedicated games room; café / bar and a fitness suite. Our design approach was to provide spaces which were multi-purpose and adaptable to a number of uses; whilst creating an efficient plan by limiting the amount of dedicated circulation space, instead adopting a central street approach which acts as extension to the surrounding activity rooms.
